INDIGENOUS RIGHTS Wise Words

For activity 3 of INDIGENOUS RIGHTS I have to tell my readers about a role model to me and geet him to share a piece of wisdom so there is not much else to say, i'm just gonna write it. I picked my Dad my dad is the biggest role model in my life because he's funny, he's nice and he is decently smart even though he says he is not. He teaches me lots of things about money like investing so here is a sentence he always says to me. "Do not spend all of your money on junk because you will never have more money in your life then when you were a kid." I hope this taught you not to spend money. But if you spend your money on junk then go for it. But  i'm gonna follow my Dad's advice.

For activity 2 of INDIGENOUS RIGHTS I had to look at a few sites of groups. Next I have to pick 2 groups, tell you what they are called and tell you 2 facts of each. So here we go. For activity 3 of Woman's Rights I have to write a story review for Emma Watson's book club that includes what I like about it and what it's about. So here we go. I pick Harry Potter which is my favorite book but I like the Movie better. I picked Harry Potter because I am into Magic and Wizard story's so it is the perfect book. Harry Potter is about a boy called Harry who's parents dies by getting killed by the most evil wizard in the world Voldemort so Harry has to live with his mean aunt and uncle and their little brat kid Dursley. But luckily Harry Potter gets accepted into Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At this school he meets to friends first Ronald Weaselly ( Rupert Grint ) ( That one kid who says bloody lots ) and Hermione Granger ( Emma Watson) ( One of the best well known actors ever) ( That smart kid that knows more then everyone else) This was my book review on Harry Potter. I hope it was satisfyingly good

Woman's Rights The Right to an Education

For activity 2 of Woman's Rights I have had to write a 10 sentence story with at least 10 sentences and full points. I wrote about wizards because I think medieval things are cool. It was hard making it a short story because I wasn't able to add detail but it was easy deciding what I was going to do with the story. For activity 1 of Woman's Rights I have to pick a New Zealand Woman to replace Kate Sheppard on the $10. Here we go. TAKING ACTION I Have a Dream

For activity 3 of TAKING ACTION I have to write about racism in America so here we go. In the 1960's there was a huge racism problem. White people and black people would have to be separated for everything and they were not allowed to be with the white people. It was like the white people were the bosses of the black people. But one day a black woman called Rosa Parks refused to give her seat up to a white person. Others were confused that she stood up to them and then it was a law that black and white people were not to be separated. And that changed the world. It was hard thinking of what other people thought because it did not say so I just wrote what I think they would act like but it was easy writing the problem. Have you had to deal with this problem before?

For activity 2 of TAKING ACTION I have had to make a list of 3 facts about climate change and a thing I can do to help climate change. So here we go. 1. 2016 was the hottest year to ever been known 2. In February 1936 in North America was the coldest in all of America for a while. 3. The warmer it gets the higher sea level gets. To help climate change I will put my rubbish in the big to not pollute water. Nelson Mandela is a man who got sent to a prison on Robben Island he only got a small cell with a straw mat for a bed. It was hard thinking of what work they would do because I have never knew because I have never been to prison before but it was easy describing the cell because I read a paragraph about it. For activity 3 of TAKING THE LEAD I have had to write a letter to Jacinder Ardurn about a problem in New Zealand that includes why we need to fix it and how we can fix it. I did my letter on pollution in water because it is harming the environment and the animals. It was hard finding an idea because New Zealand doesn't have many huge problems because it is a peaceful country but it was easy writing why we need to fix the pollution. TAKING THE LEAD ( No Activity Name)

For activity 2 of TAKING THE LEAD I had to solve a math problem of how old Jessa Rogers was when she got a reward. So this is I worked it out. She was born on the 7th of April 2019 and got her reward on the  9th of July 2010 so here we got. I started of with years so I started with 1985 so added 15 which made it 2000 and then added 10 so the equals 25 so she is 25. Next I did months so I started at April and went to July and they are 2 months apart so she it 2 months old. And last was Days so I started on the 7th of April and counted up the the 9th of July and they are 93 days apart. So Jessa Rogers is 25 year's, 2 month's and 93 day's old. It was hard working out the days because there were so much but it was easy counting the years. Were you able to work this question out?

TAKING THE LEAD Playing Favorites

For Activity one of TAKING THE LEAD I have to write about 5 of my favorite thing to do and me doing it. So here are my things. First of all I like to draw because it’s relaxing and it makes me calm. For number 2 I like sleeping because I feel relaxed and warm, I guess that explains why I don’t want to get up in the morning. For Number 3 I picked playing video games because it is fun and makes me calm when I am mad. For my fourth thing I chose listening to music because because it makes me calm and happy. For Number 5 I picked reading because I like to use my imagination and picture the characters. It was hard thinking of my favorite things because normally it’s just drawing and playing video games but then I realized that I do more things then that but it was easy covering my face. The reason I was covering my face was because anyone can view my blog so it is not safe to reveal my face. Do you like doing any of these things? and it makes me calm. AGAINST THE ODDS Own Choice

For Activity 3 of AGAINST THE ODDS I got to pick someone who is a change maker and I picked a TouTuber called Mr Beast. I did not pick him just because he is a cool YouTuber but because he love donating he gives money to homeless people, he donates money to help grow trees and also gives money to people who win challenges. His real name is Jimmy and he has changed the lives of the homeless and helps the trees and that makes him the most nicest YouTuber on the planet. It was hard finding someone but I picked Mr Beast Because he is a YouTuber who give out money to those in need. But is was easy knowing why I picked him.

AGAINST THE ODDS Swimming To Safety

For Activity 2 of AGAINST THE ODDS I had to read a story of  some one called Yusra Mardini a famous swimmer in  the Olympics and I had to re-write the story in my own words so that is what I did. It was hard memorizing the names because her name was real hard to spell but it was easy remembering the scenarios that Yusra went through. Have watched the Olympics and seen her before?

For activity 1 of AGAINST THE ODDS I have to list 3 treasures to me and why they are my treasures. So here we go. First I pick my family because they look after me so they are the biggest treasure. My second treasure is my dog Guinness and my cat Isabelle. And my last treasure is my laptop because it helps me entertain myself and stay calm. For my third activity in INDIVIDUAL PURSUITS I had to make a brochure filled with what I would like to do or see in a country I picked Scotland. I picked scotland because I have some Scottish blood in me so that's why I picked this. For activity 2 of INDIVIDUAL PURSUITS I had to pick a name if i wanted to rename myself so I picked Hamish because my family is Scottish and Hamish it a Scottish name. Also my middle name is Hamish. It was hard thinking of another name because I like my name because it is a Dutch name and my Opa's name is Arie to also known as Adriaan. But it was easy coming up with Hamish because it's my middle name so I should be allowed to make my first name Hamish and second name Arie. There is not much else to talk about so i'm just gonna end it here.

INDIVIDUAL PURSUITS Making A Racket

For activity 1 of INDIVIDUAL PURSUITS I had to watch a video of how Venus and Serena Williams are getting payed less then men tennis players. I have to talk about 3 things I got from the video and 1 question, so here we go. First of all the people paying them less the the men should make it equal so they have the same they both put in the hard effort. Second of all the people paying them are a little bit sexist because men and woman both work hard and both do the same amount of work so they need the same money even though they are woman. The woman are not happy with their pay and they want the same amount which they should get. My question is " Why do men get more then woman?" It was hard knowing what was going on because they were using big words but when they used smaller words I knew what they were saying. Do you think they should get payed the same?

For activity 3 of the summer learning journey I have had to make a poster of six things I can do to support someone trying to follow their dream job. My Mum wants to be a Teacher when we are in our new house next year so this is my poster of how I can support her. For activity 1 of Rugby Super Stars I have got to write about if I were a super hero and could have 3 powers what would they be and why. I am going to pick a villain because I do not want to be a hero because I don't like helping people. pick invisibility because I can pickpocket and sneak out of class. For my second power I would pick dark magic so I can open portals, summon demons, use telekinesis, levitate and all sorts of things. See I picked that power to get more powers. And for my last power I pick force fields imagine doing what ever you want and no one can touch you you could just make you're own house using force fields for walls and roofs. UP IN THE AIR Miracle On The Hudson

For Activity 3 of UP IN THE AIR we have had to read about a Miracle On The Hudson. The Miracle On Hudson is a story of how a plane crashed but the pilot landed the plane in the Hudson River with all of the passengers still alive. For this activity we have to talk about a scary thing that happened to you or someone you know where you or someone you know were in danger and had to do something about it. So Here is mine. One time me and my big brother Sam were crossing a road and a car was coming but Sam said we should go but he did not see the car. Luckily I saw it though so I said " NO!" and then the car went past so we crossed back to our house It was hard thinking of a time because I don't have lot of dangerous stuff in my life but it was easy writing the story.

UP IN THE AIR one small step for man

For Activity 2 of UP IN THE AIR I have to pretend I am Neil Armstrong the first person on the Moon. I had to make a Poem Describing what it is like on the moon. It was hard writing the describing words because I do not know what it feels like because I have never been on the Moon before but it was pretty easy rhyming. Do think Space is cool? Explorers Scaling New Heights

For Activity 3 I have to pick a charity and talk about what it does, I picked SPCA. What SPCA does is they help take care of animals that are damaged, weak, sick, hungry or thirsty. I picked SPCA because I love animals and they need more respect because they are living things just like us and we should treat them that way. SPCA stand for Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. It was hard finding out what SPCA stood for but easy knowing why they did it. Have you donated or adopted a pet from the SPCA?

Activity 2 for Explorers says I need to write about where I come from so here we go. I am Scottish, Dutch and NZ European. I know, a pretty weird combination. My dad is Scottish which is why my last name is Macdonald. Macdonald is a Scottish clan also the most popular clan in all of Scotland. My mum's side of the family is Dutch so that't why my Opa And Oma's last name is Geerlofs a Dutch last name. And I was born in New Zealand but I am not Maori so that means i'm NZ European. So that is my family Background. What is you're family Background?

UP IN THE AIR Flying Solo

For today's activity I had to make a Ven-Diagram of the differences and similarity of Amelia Earhart and Jean Batten. It was hard researching about them because I do not know anything about them but it was easy writing all of it once I new what to write. Amelia Earhart  and Jean Batten are 2 very famous flyers that have traveled great and impressive distances like 29,000 miles. Thats way more then me. Explorers Setting Sail

This is my first post for the summer learning journey. This activity is about how you are on a boat and you need to pack you're own food and you need 10 different foods. It was easy writing why I picked the food but much more harder picking the food, do you know how hard it is finding food that will not need heat or cold and still be able to be eaten. Christmas Work

This week we have had to do lots of work that has something to do with Christmas we had to do a Christmas math booklet, a Symmetry Christmas tree and a coordinates sheet. All of them were hard because I had to try and complete all of them in one week but it was easy doing the symmetry sheet because I am good at drawing. There is only 12 days till Christmas. Environment & Exploration

Today I learnt about The Water Project. The Water Project is an organization that helps to give water to the people that do not have access to fresh, clean water. The Water Projects goal is to give everyone fresh water and help stop hydration and diseases. The Water Project works in the places that need water like Africa. The Water Project has achieved the goal and brung the numbers of sickness down which has made the world a much better place. The Water Project is definitely going to do so much bigger thing in the future. This Organization is doing so much.

The Social Network

Today Emma came to our school to let us do the Summer Learning Journey Teaser so this is what I picked. I picked science, Technology & invention. Since I picked that I have to list 5 things to stay safe online, so here we go. First of all you should never share your password or others can login to your account and potentially change your password and you would never be able to go back into your account again. Second of all you should never go on dangerous websites if you don't know how its dangerous then go to my post that will teach you how. Third of all do not post inappropriate pictures or videos because you belong to you only. The Fourth rule is never let people see your address if your live and making a video. And number 5, the last rule is if anyone is being mean or rude online then block them. I hope this helped you to be cyber smart online.

How To Know If Something Is Fake Online

Today we had to write down a list of ideas that will help us know if someone is trying to now our personal info or if you are on a dangerous website, so I am going to show you how to know. The first this you need to check for the website is the URL if it has a green lock then its safe but if it has spaces in the URL then it is dangerous and a fake website. But if your getting an email then here is how to know if its good or bad. It is a bad email if someone asks for a password or credit card details. For example last Thursday the class saw an animal called the tree octopus. It was on a website with lots of information but lots of the pictures looked really fake. Then I looked at the URL and it did not have a lock and it had spaces in the URL so at that moment I new that it was fake. It was hard figuring out if it were real or fake but easy researching to find if it was true. I hope this has taught you how to stay safe online and not go onto dangerous websites.
