Bear Hunt Map

In math we are learning  about directions. We Listened to the story going on a bear hunt. We picked out the obstacles in the story to put in our map. We then drew a map of the story. We had to carefully think about where we put the obstacles and the order they are in. Then we had to write directions from the house to the cave. We had to use meters and compass directions like north, east, south and west.

Oink And Cluck

Today we had to work out something called Oink and Cluck we had to find out how much legs there were and how much pigs and chickens there were and we had to show different ways we had to use addition, skip counting and multiplication. Me and my buddy Lochlan first tried skip counting we kept counting until we had 26 legs because 36 legs were how many were on the question. we added up all of the leg and got 6 pigs and 6 chickens. Next we wanted to try addition we wrote 4+4+4+4+4 it equaled 20 legs and that 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2=16 legs so there were 5 pigs and 8 chickens. After that me and Lochlan tried multiplication we found out 6x4= 24 pig legs and that 2x6= 12 chicken legs and there were 6 pigs and 6 chickens. Last of all we did multiplication again and tried 5x4 and that equaled 20 pig legs and that 8x2= 16 chicken legs so there were 5 pigs and 8 chickens

The Library Book Cover

Today I made a book cover for a story called the library, I have got something to tell you I have been sick the 2 days so i'm kinda confused. My friend said we had to make a book cover for a picture we had to make into a book. It was hard making the back cover but easy decorating the cover. I cant wait till I know what i'm doing.

Scholastic Booklet Math

Mrs McG gave us a scholastic booklet for math and said we had some challenges we had to complete. The challenges said that we can buy some stuff with some FAKE money. The  first challenge was a warm up and after that there were 2 other challenges. We had to see if we we could spend all of the money or have some left over and we had to give different ways to do it. It was hard findings everything but pretty easy adding up all of the money. Have a look.

Little Red Riding Hood Directions

Today Mrs Mc'G I filled in a sheet that is meant to give my directions for example it wants me to put something in A1 then I would just put it in the bottom left corner of the page. It was was hard drawing in all of the things it wanted my to but it was easy finding the directions. we also learnt that your meant to say the letter before the number. Our map was about
t the story "Little Red Riding Hood." We had to do 2 things first we had to draw in cert-en boxes and draw
cert-en things, second we had to write the coordinates for different things if you want you could try it yourself.

Pigeon Impossible

Today for literacy we watched a short movie called pigeon impossible. It was about a cheeky pigeon who was trying to steal a bagel from Walter the secret agent. Walter stopped an explosion but he didn't exactly complete his mission. We had a choice of 4 activity's the first one was a wanted poster the second was to write new mission for Walter the third one was to make a news paper about it and the fourth one was to make a comic about the movie. I chose to do the wanted poster I had to make a picture of a pigeon write down its characteristics, what its wanted for, where it was last see and how much money the reward is. It was hard making the pigeon but easy writing everything.

Four Colours

Today I had a to do a little challenge where we had a cube with made with 4 blocks and we had to make all 4 colors able to be seen here is how I did it. I put each of the 2 blocks together and showed some of the top of my cube too so you could see the yellow. It was hard because I had 2 of the same colour but it was easy connecting all of the blocks together. Can you find different ways to do it, are you up for the challenge?

2-Digit Targets

Today at math I tried this thing called 2-Digit Targets the aim of the game it to fill in the boxes with only 0-9 numbers and your only allowed to use them once. It was pretty hard because I could only use a number once but it was pretty easy knowing what the questions meant. Your meant to find as many combinations as possible can you find more then 1.
