This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note… some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

TAKING THE LEAD ( No Activity Name)
For activity 2 of TAKING THE LEAD I had to solve a math problem of how old Jessa Rogers was when she got a reward. So this is I worked it out. She was born on the 7th of April 2019 and got her reward on the 9th of July 2010 so here we got. I started of with years so I started with 1985 so added 15 which made it 2000 and then added 10 so the equals 25 so she is 25. Next I did months so I started at April and went to July and they are 2 months apart so she it 2 months old. And last was Days so I started on the 7th of April and counted up the the 9th of July and they are 93 days apart. So Jessa Rogers is 25 year's, 2 month's and 93 day's old. It was hard working out the days because there were so much but it was easy counting the years. Were you able to work this question out?

Christmas Work
This week we have had to do lots of work that has something to do with Christmas we had to do a Christmas math booklet, a Symmetry Christmas tree and a coordinates sheet. All of them were hard because I had to try and complete all of them in one week but it was easy doing the symmetry sheet because I am good at drawing. There is only 12 days till Christmas. Have you got anything on for Christmas?

Harry Potter Time
Today I filled out a Harry Potter Time work sheet. The work sheet was about the times of the trains in Harry Potter, I loved this work because I love Harry Potter. You got given 4 questions and you had to work out how long Harry would be on the train for. It was hard working out the time because i'm not really familiar with train times but it was easy saying the name because I already now all of them from
the movie. Do you watch Harry Potter

Time For Public Transport
Today we learnt about times for public transport. Things like when the vehicles start and when to get off the vehicle. We did our math focusing on the time and places of a London Train. The stations were called Leatherhead, Epsom, Wimbledon, Clapham Junction and Waterloo, Which are pretty funny names. We also got told the times. First we had to recreate the time table for when the train start and stop. And we got 3 questions for all of the times of the trains, For example it would ask you how long does it take to get from Leatherhead to Epsom Leatherhead's time is 7:10 and Epsom's time is 7:15 so the answer would be 5 minutes. It was hard learning about the times for the trains because I have never been on one in my life but it was easy once I got the hang of it. Have you ever been on a train before?

Decimats
Today in math we learnt what decimats are. Decimats are boxes to help you sort out fractions like 1/3 of 3 and 1/2 of 6, here is what we did! First Mrs Woolley gave us a decimat which looks like a rectangle box, then we told us to make it into 1/2 so we put a line through the box. Next she told us to make it into 1/4 so we put a line through the box but across the rectangle. After that she told us to cut the box into eight so we did. Last of all she told us to shade in one of the eighths and then she asked " What's the fraction?" We all said 1/8 it was hard keeping up with all of the steps but easy to use the decimat. How interesting!

Alien Invasion
In math we have been sorting out a series of word problems called Alien Invasion. The story is that SHS on on a trip and they are in Manford city but suddenly aliens have attacked and we have to try and get out. We had to watch videos and it has lots of hard questions like where the ships are but there are also very easy questions like how long will it take to get out. There are 4 stages and to complete a stage you have to complete about 3 problems for example lets say your on lesson 1 next you go to 1 A then 1 B then 1 C and then your on 2. The most far I have gotten in 2 C. Do you think you can solve the alien invasion. If you think you can then look at this slide. If you want to see what I did then look at the slide show.

Making An Alien Only Using 2D Shapes
Today in math I made an alien out of 2D shapes . I used triangles, step looking shapes and squares. It was hard finding shapes because my group was already digging into the box of shapes but easy creating the alien itself. Have you made an alien? My one looks like a centipede.

Making And Creating Decimal Numbers
Yesterday in math my group had to draw examples of decimal numbers that Mrs McG wrote up on the white board. It was hard at first because I was new to the whole thing and it did not make scenes to me but once I found out how to do it was actuality pretty easy. To do it is easy and this is how. each number on the left side of a decimal point is a ten and the number on the right side of the decimal point is a one. For example: 1.62= one 10, a 6 and a 2. And that´s how you do it.Wednesday, 31 July 2019

Not Too Close!
Today we solved a problem called Not Too Close! You had to try fill in all the boxes but the numbers couldn't be together. For example 3 can't be next to 4 it cant be in front of it, behind it or diagonal from it. It was hard making it so none of the numbers are in order but easy because Zi'ao was helping me too. We had to try come up with different combinations but I only came up with the one but I will do more after this can you figure out different combinations? If you can tell me how much and what they are.

Bear Hunt Map
In math we are learning about directions. We Listened to the story going on a bear hunt. We picked out the obstacles in the story to put in our map. We then drew a map of the story. We had to carefully think about where we put the obstacles and the order they are in. Then we had to write directions from the house to the cave. We had to use meters and compass directions like north, east, south and west.

Oink And Cluck
Today we had to work out something called Oink and Cluck we had to find out how much legs there were and how much pigs and chickens there were and we had to show different ways we had to use addition, skip counting and multiplication. Me and my buddy Lochlan first tried skip counting we kept counting until we had 26 legs because 36 legs were how many were on the question. we added up all of the leg and got 6 pigs and 6 chickens. Next we wanted to try addition we wrote 4+4+4+4+4 it equaled 20 legs and that 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2=16 legs so there were 5 pigs and 8 chickens. After that me and Lochlan tried multiplication we found out 6x4= 24 pig legs and that 2x6= 12 chicken legs and there were 6 pigs and 6 chickens. Last of all we did multiplication again and tried 5x4 and that equaled 20 pig legs and that 8x2= 16 chicken legs so there were 5 pigs and 8 chickens

Scholastic Booklet Math
Mrs McG gave us a scholastic booklet for math and said we had some challenges we had to complete. The challenges said that we can buy some stuff with some FAKE money. The first challenge was a warm up and after that there were 2 other challenges. We had to see if we we could spend all of the money or have some left over and we had to give different ways to do it. It was hard findings everything but pretty easy adding up all of the money. Have a look.

Little Red Riding Hood Directions
Today Mrs Mc'G I filled in a sheet that is meant to give my directions for example it wants me to put something in A1 then I would just put it in the bottom left corner of the page. It was was hard drawing in all of the things it wanted my to but it was easy finding the directions. we also learnt that your meant to say the letter before the number. Our map was about
t the story "Little Red Riding Hood." We had to do 2 things first we had to draw in cert-en boxes and draw
cert-en things, second we had to write the coordinates for different things if you want you could try it yourself.
